Lycoming Animal Protection Society (LAPS) was founded in 1992 in Montoursville, Pennsylvania.During its brief history, many animals have been protected and adopted from this small, no-kill shelter. In time, LAPS became a non-profit organization. LAPS continues to be a haven for homeless felines and would like to eventually be able to offer assistance to other animal species, as well.

All LAPS residents are given a physical at the veterinarian's office upon entry to the shelter. They also are tested for feline leukemia, kept current on their vaccinations, and spayed/neutered. If they are not old enough to be spayed/neutered before adoption, a certificate will be provided to a participating veterinarian who will perform the operation at no extra cost.

LAPS is always looking for new volunteers. If you are crafty, like to bake, or just want to donate some time to work at a fundraising event, please call LAPS at 570-327-8707 to volunteer. You can read more about volunteering at LAPS by clicking here.

Your assistance is needed and will be greatly appreciated.

Getting to LAPS:

We are located in the Riverfront South ndustrial complex, just off of the Maynard St bridge in South Williamsport.  If you are coming from the I-180 (exit 28) direction on Maynard Street, cross the Susquehanna River bridge (going south) and take the very first driveway immediately before the railroad tracks.  There is a sign designating the driveway as RiverFront South.  Procede to the back of the complex, following the drive closest to the railroad tracks on the right.  As the drive turns left and goes down a little hill, LAPS is on your left at the bottom of the hill.  We do have a sign outside our door.

Here is an interactive map of our location. Feel free to zoom in or out to get a better perspective of where we are located. Use the map to get directions from your location.
