How You Can Help LAPS
As Lycoming Animal Protection Society is a non-profit organization completely operated by volunteers, your help and support is always needed. Whether through financial support or through the donation of materials used in the direct care of our residents, we cannot do it without you. Here are some ways you can help:
Adopt a New Best Friend! LAPS has many wonderful felines that would love to have an opportunity to meet you and, hopefully, win their way into your heart and home. Learn more about adopting a LAPS kitten or cat. If you have any questions about adoption, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Sponsor a kitty
If you can't adopt due to allergies or already have a pet and don't feel that you can bring another into your home but you would still like to help, LAPS has a sponsorship program that may meet your needs. Learn more about sponsoring a kitty.
As a no-kill organization, LAPS provides housing, food, companionship, and medical care for an indefinite period of time, sometimes for the balance of an animal's life. This can all be costly but it is the commitment of the organization. Please consider a donation to support LAPS.
If you have some time, LAPS could use your help. Good volunteers are always in short supply and the regular folks could really use some assistance. Learn more about volunteering for LAPS.

Show your support, buy a LAPS t-shirt - New shirts have arrived!! They were designed by Cathy Frey, the same artist that designed our Chorus Line of Cats T-Shirts. Learn more about LAPS t-shirts.
LAPS Yard Sale
LAPS accepts donations for our yard sales. Due to space constrictions, we ask that yard sale donations are not brought to LAPS until a LAPS representative has discussed the donation with you We only accept those items that are sellable and in good, clean condition; otherwise, we have to pay to dispose of items that aren’t sellable. Please remember that LAPS is a 501(c)3 organization and all contributions are tax-deductible. Tax receipts are available upon request.
Cans for Cats
Wliiamsport area residents: donate your used aluminum cans.
LAPS has a list of items used in the everyday care of the Shelter cats that are always needed and greatly appreciated. View our current wish list.
PetSmart and Petco
We are currently in need of a temporary Sunday volunteer to clean the cat cages at Petsmart in Williamsport starting October 21. The current volunteer is scheduled for surgery and won't be able to pull her shift for a few months. We are also in need of a permanent Sunday volunteer to clean the cat cages at Petco in Muncy starting immediately. If you, or anyone you know, is interested, please contact us via info@LapsShelter.org. Thank you!!
The LAPS cats are looking for a few cat loving people willing to give of their time to help with the care and feeding needs of the felines at the shelter. This position is open for Saturday evenings. Duties would include, food water, litter scooping and meds. Humans will assist in training. Are you without a Saturday night date, well our cats are here to fill that void in your life for just some general care and attention. All candidates would need to be open to purrs, leg rubs, and general attentions from all the felines in residence. If you or someone you know might fit into this position, please give THE LAPS CATS a call at 327-8707. Time on Saturday evenings is flexible to fit candidates needs and time constraints. You can also reply by email to the shelter at email@example.com
The LAPS cats are looking for a couple of people within the organization or within the email field of Williamsport area to learn to give meds and be able to fill in when the staff is shorthanded. It seems a number of volunteers have family obligations that take them away from their shelter duties for a time so we need a few new, dedicated people to fill in at times of need. Do you have vet tech experience or medical knowledge? This would be a plus, but certainly not necessary as we have staff willing to train. If interested in helping the cats, please call 327-8707 or apply to firstname.lastname@example.org
