LAPS Adoption Information
Lycoming Animal Protection Society, Inc. has many wonderful felines that would love to have an opportunity to meet you and, hopefully, win their way into your heart and home.
All LAPS residents are given a physical at the veterinarian's office upon entry to the shelter. They are also tested for feline leukemia, kept current on their vaccinations, and spayed/neutered as well. If they are not old enough to be spayed/neutered before adoption, the adopter is given a certificate to present to a participating veterinarian who will perform the operation at no extra cost to the adopter when the kitten is of the proper age.
LAPS wants to ensure that its residents never again have to worry about being homeless so the organization has a very simple adoption form that it asks potential adopters to complete and sign. This form has some questions concerning the adopter's residence (own, rent, etc.) as well as some basic questions about animal care and needs among others.
After this paperwork is completed and you select your new family member, LAPS. asks that you pay a small adoption fee and sign one last form that states you will provide a home for the lifetime of the cat or will return the animal to the LAPS shelter if you are unable to continue to provide a home and care for it.
Please contact the organization at 570.327.8707 to set up a time to visit the shelter and meet your new best friend.
