Do you love companion pets but reside in a situation where it may be impossible to either adopt one or welcome another animal into your home? Would you enjoy being able to help a homeless animal with funding that would assure your “friend” of all the care and comforts possible, without the responsibility of having it in your home? You may like to consider the Sponsor Program at LAPS.
A no-kill animal shelter provides housing and care to an animal for an indefinite period of time—perhaps for the rest of its life! Some of the cats at the LAPS Shelter may be hard to place in good homes through adoption, because of a variety of problems including age, temperament or chronic disability. As long as a good quality of life including comfort and care can be given to the cat, it has a “home” at the Shelter. Our commitment is to offer the once homeless cat proper veterinary care, regular vaccines, a healthy diet, a variety of stimulating activities (grooming, play and exercise), and of course, sterilization surgery (spay or neuter). This can be a very costly endeavor, but it is our commitment. The Sponsor Program provides us with funding to help continue the attention we assure the cats residing at the Shelter.
For $15 per month per cat, a “Sponsor Parent” would assure their individual recipient of receiving the best possible care. Your sponsored feline is chosen randomly from residents. That is, unless you would prefer to come to the Shelter and choose your own. We will provide you with a photo of your cat along with any other information you would like about him or her. If your cat is adopted, we will immediately notify you and hopefully you will elect to sponsor another one of our deserving residents.
Does this sound interesting to you? Good! Simply complete the Sponsor Program form, and you may send it to us or drop it off at the Shelter. One of our volunteers will contact you shortly with more details to get you started on your rewarding adventure as a “Sponsor Parent”. Thank you for supporting LAPS!
